USB bulb cable for DSLR cameras

This interface allows you to remote control your Digital SLR camera using several imaging software packages like: ImagesPlus, MaxDSLR and DSLRFocus. You can do that with a USB cable only, but then the exposure time is limited to 30 seconds. With this cable you can expose as long as you want. The cable has a 2.5mm stereo jack that fits the Canon 300D and 350D. It is possible to adapt it to other types or brands of cameras. The cable has a USB interface and virtual COM port built in.

The cable is 1.8m (6 feet) long, but you can use a long USB cable to get a bigger distance from your camera. The circuit contains an Optocoupler to completely isolate your camera from the computer, this is the only safe way to connect your valuable camera!

Timer for DSLR cameras

This interface allows you to make automated sequences of astronomical images without the need for a laptop (like in the field). The cable has a 2.5mm stereo jack that fits the Canon 300D and 350D DSLR cameras. It is possible to adapt it to other types or brands of cameras. You can set: Exposure time, Delay between exposures, Number of exposures, and if your camera supports it, you can flip the mirror up a few seconds before the shutter opens, to minimize vibration. The LCD background illumination is red and its brightness is adjustable. All settings are programmable, the last settings will be saved as a default setting. Power supply via supplied cable, 8 - 12V DC.

Maximum exposure and delay: 999 seconds, Mirror flip delay 0-60 seconds, and you can set a maximum of 9999 exposures in one sequence. The camera needs to be in the Manual - Bulb mode for this timer to function with long exposure times. If you set the exposure to of the timer 1 second, you also could use it to make pictures in The Automatic or Program mode to make time lapse series.
